ZOUTOISE (FR) made the long journey up to Catterick worthwhile on Wednesday, getting off the mark for owner Simon Clarke in the 2m mares novices hurdle. She raced with plenty of enthusiasm in behind the leaders before battling all the way to the line in a thrilling finish. She will continue to improve with experience and could develop into a very smart mare.

The horses have also caught the eye in defeat. BOAGRIUS (IRE) returned to form at Newbury last Friday to finish a close second in the 2m Handicap Chase on ground that was softer than ideal and AIR NAVIGATOR (IRE) only found one too good in the 3m1f Handicap Chase at Wincanton yesterday. We have been operating at a 44% strike-rate over the last two weeks, let’s hope it continues heading into Cheltenham!
