Steanbridge Farm is a stunning split level barn offering so much as a holiday home that it is hard to imagine this not being a place you choose to return to once you’ve been the first time. Perched on the edge of a hill and with incredible views down the famous Slad Valley, this beautifully presented old Shepherds Rest has undergone a huge transformation which not only takes advantage of its awesome position, but internally provides every possible luxury you could want.  A Sonos state of the art music system in the ceilings, underfloor heating throughout, built in TV’s in all the main rooms, modern, cool furnishings and awesome views give this property complete standout appeal. The property is ideal for a family or for two couples as both bedrooms are ensuite.  The master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and a very large bathroom with walk in shower and a double bath, the vanity unit is really special too.  The second bedroom is much smaller with an ensuite shower room, this bedroom can be made up as a kingsize double or twin beds upon request.

The valley is your own in this secluded charming spot on a working farm surrounded by sheep and horses.  The Laurie Lee Poetry Post walk of his beloved Slad Valley is here and a map is laminated for you to photograph in the barn so you don’t get lost.  Upon your return it is advisable to book a table at The Woolpack for a delicious dinner which is only 500 metres from Steanbridge Farm.  If you want to explore a little further afield you will find lots of pretty villages and market towns, one being Painswick.  Stroud only 2 miles away with a mainline railway station to London, has an award winning farmers market every Saturday morning and a weekday covered market replicating London’s Borough Market.

The Cotswold’s Way rambling paths that snake all the way through the quintessential Cotswold’s villages where you will find local county pubs chocolate box houses and even the odd duck race if you arrive on the right day.  If you’re looking for larger towns you will find Tetbury, Gloucester and Cheltenham on your doorstep. Cheltenham is an elegant Regency spa town and offers something for everyone of all ages and tastes. With stunning architecture festivals and events and an abundance of boutique shops bars restaurants and entertainment venues throughout the town. The biggest attraction has to be what Cheltenham is internationally famous for and that’s horse racing. There are monthly race meetings from October to April. 

Accommodation

Entrance through to open plan living space, with large glass windows and 3 sets of french doors.  There is outdoor sofa seating with cushions and a outdoor dining table with 4 chairs all absorbing the phenominal uninterrupted views.

Living Space: Contemporary style and with underfloor heating, two large sofas, wall mounted Freesat TV and DVD player. There is a Sonos music system which allows to connect to remotely via your smart phone (Sonos app or Spotify) to play music through the barn!

Kitchen/Diner: Very well equipped, with electric hob, double oven and grill, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and washing machine. There is also an attractive breakfast bar. There is a dining table and four chairs.

Master Bedroom: A spacious room with king size double bed (5ft) and wardrobe with shelving, plus large wall mounted Freeview TV; Ensuite Bathroom with walk-in shower, huge bath, WC and washbasin.

Bedroom Two: Located at the other end of the barn from the Master Suite, with double zip-bed (5ft) which can be split into two single beds if preferred. There is also a wall mounted TV with Freesat plus Ensuite Shower Room with shower, WC and washbasin.

Outside: There is a terrace at the front which runs the length of the barn which can be accessed through the various opening doors of the property. There is also an outdoor table, chairs and BBQ. Beyond there is a large grassed area where you can play if you wish. The property is surrounded by fields. (Please note that the private drive from Steanbridge Lane to the property is quite steep.)

Children Welcome – Cot and High Chair Supplied upon request.  Pets Welcome. 

Parking: Ample parking available behind the barn or on the track below.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
If guests are bringing dogs, the site the barn sits within is not totally secured but 100 metres from the public lane.

WHAT MAKES THIS AREA SO SPECIAL:
The Woolpack is a 5 minute walk and a 30 minute walk away – The Butchers Arms and The Painswick Hotel, the latter offers a high end spa, great cocktails, afternoon tea and a superb restaurant.
