The good form of the yard continued this week with four horses coming home in front and plenty catching the eye in behind.
FORGOT TO ASK (IRE) relished the return to a sounder surface at Plumpton on Monday and secured his fourth success for owner Julie Hoskins in the 3m1f Handicap Chase. Johnny held him up in behind the leaders and quickly bridged the gap when staying on strongly from the second-last to win well. He will have a busy spring whilst the ground remains in his favour.
KAKAMORA (IRE) got off the mark in the 2m Maiden Hurdle at Huntingdon on Tuesday in the colours of Tim Syder. He found plenty for pressure turning for home and won going away. He’s a fine chasing type who will no doubt want further in time.
SUMKINDOFKING (IRE) sealed an across the card double in the 3m2f Handicap Chase at Wincanton later that day, providing our conditional jockey Tom Doggrell with his first winner for the yard. He was extremely well handicapped under Tom’s valuable 10lb claim so it was no surprise to see him bounce back to form on the better ground. Hopefully the handicapper doesn’t react too harshly and gives him a chance to follow up for owner Ken Bebington.
ROCK ON ROCCO (IRE) secured his first win over fences at Ludlow yesterday in the 2m4f Novices Handicap Chase. Tom Scudamore did a great job of regaining his confidence after surviving a scare at the third and he went on to win comfortably. He seemed at home back on the spring ground so there should be plenty more improvement to come from him. All the winners were awarded best turned out this week which is a testament to the team’s hard work!
