The purple patch continued over the festive period and 2020 got off to a fantastic start….

SUMMERVILLE BOY (IRE) returned to the scene of his finest hour to win the Grade 2 Relkeel Hurdle at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day. Reverting back to hurdles with front running tactics rediscovered his old spark. He relished the return to 2m4f, making all under Johnny Burke before staying on strongly up the hill to win by two lengths. A lot of people have worked hard behind the scenes to get him back to his best and we are delighted he’s been able to reward owner Roger Brookhouse for his patience. No targets have been set for him as of yet but he answered all of our questions regarding the trip to stake his claim for the Stayers Hurdle.

MANOFTHEMOMENT (IRE) opened his account over fences in the 2m4f Handicap Chase at Warwick earlier in the week. His jumping was excellent and he showed a good attitude to hold off a strong challenge on the run-in. He’s on the right side of the handicapper so could have every chance of following up next time out for owners James Longley and Charles Tatnall.
