It’s been a fairly quiet week in the yard due to the persistent heavy rain and abandoned meetings up and down the country, however the few runners we did have produced some promising efforts.

SUMKINDOFKING (IRE) ran an excellent race to finish second in the North Yorkshire Grand National at Catterick yesterday under Noel George. It was his first attempt at 3m6f and as always he gave his all in defeat. He looks like a suitable candidate for the Glen Farclass Cross Country Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

ANOTHER STOWAWAY (IRE) showed a return to form to finish second in the competitive 3m1f Handicap Chase at Ludlow on Wednesday. The front pair pulled clear of the field so hopefully the handicapper isn’t too harsh and he can return to winning ways soon.

COME ON TEDDY (IRE) put in a much improved effort on the same card to finish second behind a smart looking rival in the Maiden Hurdle, suggesting he will be winning races for Heather Haddock & Neal Griffith soon.

SPRINGFIELD FOX also found one too good in the 2m7f Novices Hurdle at Lingfield on Tuesday. He’s come out of the race well and we are sure to see him at his best over bigger obstacles.
