It’s hard to believe that COVID has stood in the way of Aintree for the second year in a row, however Grand National week is an exciting one regardless and we’re really looking forward to DOUBLE SHUFFLE (IRE) tackling the famous fences tomorrow. Whilst the Aintree buzz won’t be at it’s normal level we are delighted to see owners back in attendance and hopefully it won’t be too long before crowds can join them!

MANOFTHEMOMENT (IRE) ran out the easy winner of the 3m1f (0-110) Handicap Chase at Plumpton on Sunday in the colours of Charles Tatnall and James Longley. He was always travelling nicely under Johnny and was well in command after taking the lead two from home. Hopefully the handicapper isn’t too harsh and we can find a similar race whilst the going is in his favour.

CLONDAW CASTLE (IRE) put up a fantastic performance at Aintree yesterday to finish second behind Clan Des Obeaux in the Grade 1 Betway Bowl Chase. It was his second attempt at 3m, he was the only horse who looked set to challenge the easy winner turning for home before tiring on the lengthy run between the last two fences. He will have learned a lot and he’s still improving so there’s no reason why he can’t put it up to the best next season after a very well-deserved summer on the Slad Valley!

DOUBLE SHUFFLE (IRE) will have a second crack at the Randox Health Grand National tomorrow. He pulled up before the second last back in 2017 but he’s a seasoned campaigner now and has grown up a lot since then. He’s had a nice preparation for the race and he sneaks in at the bottom of the weights. Hopefully he can run a big race for the Crossed Fingers Partnership at odds of 66/1, Johnny Burke rides.
