The arrival of our first Dexter Calf at Down Farm this morning is a comforting sign for us all that spring is on the horizon!
SUMMERVILLE BOY (IRE) ran a fine race to finish a length behind Paisley Park in the Grade 2 Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham on Saturday. He certainly looks to be heading in the right direction and he may well have more to offer over 3m. The Stayers Hurdle at Cheltenham looks the obvious target for him.
SPRINGFIELD FOX (IRE) made a winning debut over fences at Chepstow earlier today for owners Vicki Robinson, Sharon Nelson, Dermot O’Donohoe and John Cavanagh. As expected he relished the switch to chasing, his jumping was fantastic and he was in command from a long way out. He stays all day and if the conditions remain very testing he could be an ideal candidate for the National Hunt Challenge Cup Novices Chase on the opening day of the Festival.
