CLONDAW CASTLE (IRE) scooped a valuable prize at Warwick on Saturday when running out the easy winner of the 2m4f Warwick Castle Handicap Chase. He relished the return to better ground and stayed on well under Paddy Brennan to gain his third victory over fences for owners John French, David McDermott, Tim Syder and Sharon Nelson. He’s bred to stay and is sure to be a three miler in time but he has a touch of class that enables him to also win over shorter. No plans have been made for him as of yet but he looks an ideal candidate for the top handicaps at the Spring Festivals.
