THE ROMFORD PELE (IRE) continued his resurgence in form to make it back-to-back wins at Leicester on Sunday in the valuable Wymeswold Veterans’ Handicap Chase. He travelled well throughout and found plenty in the closing stages to win by four lengths. After winning two qualifiers he looks an ideal candidate for the Veterans Series Final held at Sandown on the 6th January. The better ground and plenty of time to recover between his races appears to be the key to him so he will only take his chance in the final if everything is right for him on the day. The £100,000 in prize money could make it very tempting!

WESTERN WAVE (FR) ran well to finish second on the same card in the 2m4f Handicap Hurdle after some bad luck in running. We are sure he will provide the Quartet Syndicate with some compensation soon!
