ROCKLANDER (IRE) secured his second win over fences at Newbury on Saturday in the 2m6f Betfred Limited Novices Handicap Chase. He jumped well from the front and stayed on bravely when challenged by the smart runner up two from home. He’s made superb progress since joining the yard two years ago to reach a career high mark of 142 and there looks to be more big days ahead for his owners Phil Nelson, Dermot O’Donohoe and John Cavanagh. His next target is undecided but we will hopefully see him in the competitive handicaps at the Spring festivals.

As expected AIR NAVIGATOR was the convincing winner of the Platt Bridge National Hunt Flat Race at Haydock on Saturday under Noel George. The ground was softer than ideal but his class came to the fore and he stayed on strongly to win by nine lengths. He looks a very exciting prospect for owners Lady Cobham and Doone Hulse and we look forward to his forthcoming novice hurdle campaign.
