Steanbridge Farm Barn is a stunning holiday cottage offering so much as a holiday home that it is hard to imagine this not being a place you choose to return to once you’ve been the first time. Perched on the edge of a hill and with incredible views down the Slad Valley, this beautifully presented cottage has undergone a huge transformation which not only takes advantage of its awesome position, but internally provides every possible luxury you could want for a holiday. A Sonos state of the art music system, underfloor heating throughout, built in TV’s in all the main rooms, modern, cool furnishings and awesome views give this property complete standout appeal.

This is ideal for a family or for two couples as there are two very smart Ensuite bathrooms and beds (in bedroom 2) which can be made as singles or a double.

Accommodation

Entrance through to open plan living space, with large glass windows and doors providing huge views.

Living Space, contemporary style and with underfloor heating, two large sofas, wall mounted Freesat TV and DVD player. There is a Sonos music system which allows to connect to remotely via your smart phone (Sonos app or Spotify) to play music through the barn!

Kitchen/Diner, very well equipped, with electric hob, double oven and grill, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and washing machine. There is also an attractive breakfast bar. There is a dining table and four chairs.

Master Bedroom, a spacious room with king size double bed (5ft) and wardrobe with shelving, plus large wall mounted Freeview TV; Ensuite Bathroom with walk-in shower, huge bath, WC and washbasin.

Bedroom Two, located at the other end of the barn from the Master Suite, with double zip-bed (5ft) which can be split into two single beds if preferred. There is also a wall mounted TV with Freesat plus Ensuite Shower Room with shower, WC and washbasin.

Outside, there is a terrace at the front which runs the length of the barn which can be accessed through the various opening doors of the property. There is also an outdoor table, chairs and BBQ. Beyond there is a large grassed area where you can play if you wish. The property is surrounded by fields. (Please note that the private drive from Steanbridge Lane to the property is quite steep.)

Local Information

Steanbridge Farm Barn sits in some of the Cotswolds’ most attractive countryside. Perhaps best known for its association with Laurie Lee and Cider with Rosie, the region is exceptionally popular with walkers which isn’t surprising given the location. Slad is gorgeous and ‘ultra Cotswolds’, packed full of traditional buildings, winding lanes and beautiful views. The Woolpack pub is outstanding and exceptionally friendly, and famed as much for its current warm welcome as it is for the place Laurie Lee regularly attended!

The nearest ‘town’ (a different one) is Painswick a delightful market town with a wide selection of shops and places to stop and relax (think coffee shops). It too has some gorgeous architecture – the church is particularly eye catching, and there are some lovely pubs to choose from too. For a wider selection of shops Stroud is about 3 miles away where you will find a Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Tesco’s. On every Saturday there is a Farmer’s Market in Stroud – one which is widely regarded as the best in the Cotswolds, with plenty of organic produce, food, cheeses and much more. There is also a flee market on every Friday mornings selling plenty of bric-a-brac.

Cheltenham and Gloucester are nearby too. Cheltenham is about 13 miles away and has a wide selection of shops to choose from plus regular festivals that Cheltenham is well known for.

This is a location that is very much ‘deep in the Cotswolds’, reachable either from the M40 or better still via the M4. Once you pull off the motorway, within minutes you are travelling through proper countryside and about to enjoy some of the finest that the Cotswolds has to offer.
