The good run of luck continued for Roger Brookhouse when BLACK OP (IRE) ran out the easy winner of the Maiden Hurdle at Doncaster today. The step up to 2m5f appeared to suit, he made all and drew clear of his rivals approaching the last to win by seventeen lengths. We’ve always held him in very high regard and he will step him up in class next time out. Both horses are by Sandmason, an unfashionable stallion who only covered five mares last season at a reduced fee of £1,000. He’s now proved he is clearly capable of fathering a good horse and I’m sure he will be busier this Spring!
