BABY KING (IRE) proved tremendously game at Aintree on Saturday to secure his second win over fences in the valuable 2m 188Bet Handicap Chase. He looked held in third jumping the last before battling tenaciously to get up by a nose in the final strides! The winning margin meant the handicapper could only put him up three pounds. He should be capable of following up and I’m sure there will be no shortage of his favoured soft ground over the next few months. There was an amusing article in the Racing Post yesterday explaining why his owners named their partnership after one of Tom’s well known phrases ‘About Two Weeks’.

NET DE TREVE (FR) & DOUBLE SHUFFLE (IRE) were both non runners at the weekend due to the heavy overnight rain.
